Matías is a one-of-a-kind Spanish tutor. He is astute, caring, and passionate about guiding your Spanish journey. I’ve religiously attended class with him 2x/week for 2 yrs. He has a well-defined program for beginners and a knack for pivoting. Working with him, I went from almost nothing to regular hour-long conversations on profound topics. Studying Spanish is more than class - it’s hard work - but Matí is there with you every step of the way. ¡Aguante estudiar con onda rioplatense! Matías es un fenómeno. Es atento y apasionado por acompañarte con el español. Durante los últimos 2 años tuve clase con él 2x por semana, sin faltar. Tiene un programa claro para principiantes y una habilidad especial para cambiar de enfoque cuando tenés dificultades. Gracias a él, pasé de no poder presentarme a tener charlas profundas. En mi trabajo ya manejo español y mis compañeros de Latinoamérica me entienden. Estudiar español es más que clase - tenés que laburar! y Matí está ahí en cada paso.

Matías's classes are always loaded with humour, information and fun. Booking the next series of 10 classes was a no brainer and I'm already looking forward to next week. :)

Matías is an excellent teacher with a great personality. It is so easy to talk to him and I have never had a boring lesson or conversation with him. The way he suggests corrections is very useful and encouraging at the same time. Thanks to Matías, I am more confident in conversing in Spanish and looking forward to taking my DELE.

As much as I want to gatekeep Mati, that would be a disservice to the Spanish-learning community. He’s an excellent teacher—clear, knowledgeable, and great at explaining grammar in simple terms. If your goal is moving from A2 to B1, he’ll get you there. But what really sets him apart is his philosophy. He’s a true “language shepherd” who helps you own Spanish, not just speak it. He understands language is about connection. He respects you as a person and makes conversations flow naturally—even while you’re fumbling between era and fue. It also helps that he’s a great conversationalist. I came in with decent grammar, and he helped me push past the intermediate plateau and actually enjoy learning. He’s also a great ambassador for the Rioplatense variety of Spanish and Argentina (muy copado!). Maybe language learning has no real endpoint. Either way, Mati is an amazing companion for the journey. I wouldn’t hesitate to book a class.

I appreciated that Matias listened to my goals in our first trial class and tailored the next class very appropriately to start working towards those goals.
