Hola, ¿qué tal? Soy Matías👋. I'm a certified Spanish tutor from International House Buenos Aires with 10+ years of experience specializing in Argentinian Spanish and cultural immersion. I'm also the host of a podcast and a YouTube channel for learners.

I see language teaching as fundamentally different from most other learning processes. It's not a transfer of knowledge or information from me to you, but a joined effort to understand how the system works and develop your natural intuition to know what's right and what's not. If you read through my profile and get the impression that we might be a good fit, chances are we actually will be. Try your luck! To me, a language is the gate into the culture of a country. For this reason, I host a podcast for Spanish learners, as well as a website and a YouTube channel dedicated to insights into Argentinian Spanish and Argentinian culture.
Besides that, I believe the real joy of learning a language shows when you take ownership of your learning journey. My priority is to create a space where you feel supported, comfortable, and accountable for your progress. Neuroscience applied to teaching - Asociación Educar para el Desarrollo Humano - 2018During 2017 and the first part of 2018 I completed a training course on Neuropsychoeducation, that is, Neuroscience applied to learning. It was an eye opening insight into how we react to new experiences and how we process information. Ever since then, I've applied the knowledge acquired to my language teaching.

It was designed to give ELE teachers a comprehensive background into language teaching. Bachelor’s - LawyerI graduated as a lawyer from University of Buenos Aires, one of the country's most prestigious public universities, in 2011. Upon graduation I worked as an attorney for some years but I'm currently not doing any law-related work, except those involving language teaching. I have regular classes and courses with foreign law students or people related to the 'legal world'.

English TeacherFormerly a student in my school days, until I moved in to Córdoba I was an English teacher here. I used to have regular courses of students aged 9-18 and I'd tutor the older ones to sit for FCE exams. I also teach adults, tailoring my classes to fit their needs. I have a great time switching to my "English self" for a few hour every day.
Since we've moved to Córdoba, my courses have stayed virtual.
2014 - 2022
Spanish TeacherI decided I wanted to teach Spanish after living for 6 months in Brazil. While living there I had the chance to teach Spanish to hotel staff and felt it was exactly what I wanted to do wherever I was. Once I was properly trained, we included Spanish as a Foreign Language as part of the course offers. We've had students coming to study, but most of all, over the Internet, and well before the pandemic hit!

Matías es un fenómeno. Es atento y apasionado por acompañarte con el español. Durante los últimos 2 años tuve clase con él 2x por semana, sin faltar. Tiene un programa claro para principiantes y una habilidad especial para cambiar de enfoque cuando tenés dificultades. Gracias a él, pasé de no poder presentarme a tener charlas profundas.
