Hello, everyone! I'm Kris, a fully qualified TEFL teacher from Leeds with 9 years of experience teaching English in various countries. My teaching journey evolved from traditional schools to private tutoring and online teaching. Fueled by my passion for understanding how the human mind learns, I, along with my wife Amanda, created the AnderCook Method. This language learning approach, developed while cycling the world, focuses on contextual learning, immersing students in real-life situations. I come from a family of teachers. My brother is an exceptional, foreign languages teacher who has more than 20 years experience teaching at the highest level. My mother, who has been a nurse her entire working life, specialises in teaching other nurses how to perfect their trade. My method of teaching is very simple, how can I help you teach yourself English? Traditional ways of teaching strips students of their natural curiosity and makes the learning experience boring and sometimes painful. I will help you re-learn how to learn by harnessing your natural, human curiosity so you can teach yourself English. My method of teaching works for everyone: Children, adults, teenagers and for every conceivable situation, such as: Interview prep, exam prep, general English, children's lessons, group lessons, advanced English lessons etc......

2016 - 2017
English TeacherFor one year, I had the privilege of teaching in a small city in Western China, where I served as the only native English teacher at the local school. My responsibilities encompassed instructing students across various age groups, spanning from kindergarten to middle school. Each class comprised an average of 50 children
2017 - 2019
English TeacherFor two years, I had the opportunity to teach at a private educational centre in the southern region of China. Unlike my previous experience, the classroom sizes were smaller, allowing for more personalized interaction with each student. I found this teaching environment preferable and conducive to effective learning.
2019 - 2020
Foreign Teacher ManagerFor my final year in China, I was appointed as the Foreign Teacher Manager at a newly established private English school. In this role, I leveraged my teaching knowledge and expertise to train and mentor other educators. It was a rewarding opportunity to share my experience and contribute to the professional development of fellow teachers.
2021 - 2024
Online ESL TeacherSince 2021, my teaching endeavours have been exclusively conducted online, where I've delivered thousands of lessons to hundreds of students. One-on-one teaching is my passion as it enables me to deeply understand my students' needs and foster meaningful connections with them.
