After finishing school, I left my small town in England for London, where I made incredible friends from all over the world. That experience pushed me to become a better communicator, not only in English, but in other languages too, and it inspired me to travel and live abroad. Since then, I’ve visited many countries and lived long-term in several, including China, Thailand, Spain, and now Latvia. I understand what it feels like to learn a language from scratch and to adapt to life in a completely new place. Now, it’s my pleasure and privilege to help others do the same, and to feel confident expressing who they are in English.

My belief is that anyone can learn any language given enough time. Because it can be a long process, and because different people have different needs, a teacher can help guide the student to make their learning more effective, as well as more enjoyable. I want help you achieve your language learning goals, whether you want to advance in your career, or just to help you communicate better in a language that is spoken by more than 1.3 billion people, and is considered to be the lingua franca of the world.

In my experience, stories make the best learning material. I choose interesting, thought-provoking news stories so learning feels meaningful, and so we always have something real to talk about. You will: • Discuss the story in depth to build fluency and speaking confidence • Practice retelling it in your own words (a powerful skill for real-life conversations) • Learn useful vocabulary and grammar that help you speak more clearly and accurately To help you keep improving between lessons, I’ll also provide flashcards for review, so you can continue building your vocabulary step by step.
