Having been raised in a bilingual environment, I not only speak English and Korean fluently, but I also have first-hand knowledge of both American and Korean cultures. I love meeting students from around the world and learning about their history and background. It's one of my favorite parts about my job!
As an English and Korean instructor, I find it very rewarding to help students improve their language skills and see them achieve their goals. This is something I'm passionate about and have been doing for many years.ฉันในฐานะผู้สอน
I want to help my students communicate in their target language as quickly as possible. I encourage my students to spend a lot of time speaking during class to increase their fluidity and confidence. During class, I can pinpoint your weak areas and help you improve in those areas through focused practice and production.
Aside from general English skills, I also specialize in Accent Reduction, Business English, IELTS and TOEFL.
For students learning Korean, I can help you feel more confident speaking Korean and better understand the nuances of the language. I'm also happy to share my insight into the culture and help you learn the language through songs, TV shows, and movies. บทเรียนและรูปแบบการสอนของฉัน
Every lesson will be tailored to your goals and needs. Depending on your level, I'll be happy to make recommendations for textbooks, online resources, news articles, YouTube videos and podcasts. I thrive on creating a comfortable and productive environment that is conducive to learning in which you can learn quickly but also have plenty of fun!
I'll always provide both oral and written feedback during and after class as well as give you ideas for individual practice that you can work on when you're not in class.

지현 선생님 한국어 수업에 정말 고맙습니다! I have been taking Korean lessons with Jihyun since December 2024 and I have been thoroughly appreciative of her and her teaching style. I am the type of who prefers structure and I enjoy the textbook that she utilizes. Her lessons are a great mix of reading, speaking, and listening. She challenges me and gets me outside of my comfort zone . The one thing that I find so helpful with Jihyun is the fact that she is a native English *and* Korean speaker so she is able to explain grammatical nuances in a way that I can understand. I love to learn but I also want to know the why. She has inspired me to set new goals in my Korean language journey and I’m thankful to have her by my side for it!
