I have been studying Korean with Dylan for more than a year. I had no prior experience with an Asian language, and while I had learned other non-Roman alphabets for work reasons, I was truly at ground zero when we began. Dylan has patiently and methodically guided me from learning the alphabet to conjugating verbs in different tenses to forming simple sentences to reading elementary texts to improving my auditory processing. I appreciate Dylan's flexibility as some days he must pivot and review a previous grammar point with me rather than moving onto a new topic. I also admit to being a challenging student due to my age and profession yet he is always upbeat, professional, and prepared with engaging, structured, and creative lessons and homework.

I was really keen to focus on speaking and listening and Dylan opened the lesson straight away with conversation in Korean. Even when I wasn’t sure, he didn’t immediately switch to English and pushed me in Korean which really made me feel like I was having a real conversation. I also loved the way he typed up the transcript of the conversation as we were having it so I could read along and catch any words I missed or receiving phrases I wanted to use again! Great lesson!!
