I'm an easy-going, approachable, attentive, insightful, clear, and sensitive teacher. I have over 18 years' experience teaching, tutoring and mentoring students of English and Linguistics. I've taught students of all ages and all levels of proficiency, from beginners to near bilinguals: A1 to C2 and beyond.

I like to get to know my students and their skills, so we'll likely spend the beginning of our first session chatting about ourselves. I'll take this as an opportunity to identify your linguistic strengths and weaknesses.
I tailor my sessions and materials according to your goals, so please share your learning preferences with me. I generally aim for a mixture of thematic presentation, focused and free practice, and spontaneous conversation in a session, as long as time permits.

Stephen was very well prepared. He carefully selected the exercises and put up an elaborate programme which was suitable for me to improve my weaknesses in a specific and desired way. During the lessson, it was amazing to see how detailed he explained the application of phonetics to me. He also responded to all my questions comprehensively and patiently.

Stephen is a very pleasant and patient teacher. In my first lesson, he created a calm, enjoyable and encouraging learning atmosphere. In addition, I benefited from his comments as an expert of phonetics. But he also gave me feedback on my mistakes in grammar and vocabulary. I am looking forward to my future lessons with Stephen.
