When I was growing up I dreaded having to study foreign languages in school. It seemed impossible to learn so many new words fast enough to keep up with the rest of the class, and I did not enjoy venturing outside of English. That was until I first came to Italy and badly wanted to speak Italian. I spent many years discovering how to be a language student in order for this to be possible.
