Hello, everyone! I am Elena. I am from Guangzhou, a city in south China.
My Chinese name is Jiaxian; I am a native speaker of Mandarin and Cantonese.

When I was in New Zealand for a working holiday a few years ago, I realized that learning their language is always the best way to know more about different cultures. We reviewed the lesson from last week as well as new material on the same topic. Was very thorough in explaining things I wasn't sure of. She also asked my questions to back up what we just talked about, and went through exercises.

This time, there were no reading materials involved, only conversation, which was great because it enabled me to engage more with speaking instead of just reading off things. As usual, whenever I wanted to know a word to express myself, I would ask, and she would let me know how to say it and how it's written.
