Great first lesson with Sam! I am an American Born Chinese so I know accents and a bit of vocabulary (know enough to order food in a Chinese restaurant), but need help with everything else. Sam was very patient and mapped out a comprehensive curriculum, which I'm excited to start. Highly recommend!!

Today after some conversation practice we practised reading, new vocab and some grammar. I'm always learning with Sam, who knows my exact level and is soooo helpful. Another great lesson! Thanks, Sam!

Today, we revised some sentences, I wrote based on a new learning point. We also discussed how to use the order of words to emphasise certain parts of a sentence, which I found very illuminating and easy to understand. We then looked at a new word, which has many potential meanings. Sam is well organised, totally focused to my learning level and incredibly knowledgeable, not only about Chinese, but about language learning. Another fantastic lesson. Thanks, Sam!

Today, we looked at something I had written based on expressions we covered in class. Learning to write in another language, is very challenging, but I'm surprised at how much I have learnt because of Sam. I always learn new and useful expressions, and although challenging, I think it's a great learning activity to learn to write formally. A very interesting discussion this morning, and I learnt a lot. Sam is a great teacher – thanks for another great lesson!
