Nessma Hassan

Nessma helps me so much to speak the Egyptian Arabic language and to really hone in on the concepts that I don't understand well so that I can make the correction and use the phrase or sentence structure correctly the next time. It has been such an amazing experience working with her for over a year. Her grace and understanding and patience when I sometimes ask her to explain the same concept over again is astounding. She understands English exceptionally well and always tries to convey what the Arabic meaning would be in English so that it can be contextualized for my understanding. She truly is the best Arabic teacher I've ever had and am so privileged that I can learn from her multiple times a week.

Nessma is a brilliant, engaging, well-organised and supportive teacher. Her English is perfect, and her learning resources are super helpful. I look forward to continuing my learning with her.

I'm working with Nessma to study for my upcoming Arabic exam with another Arabic program--I provided the textbook and she's been really incredible about going through the lessons thoroughly and at a pace that's good for me. She's incredible about checking in about my understanding before moving on to a new chapter or topic and it's been so helpful working with her!

I took about 10 Arabic lessons with Nessma before going on vacation to Egypt. Nessma is an amazing teacher! She is kind, knowledgeable, helpful, and really goes above and beyond for her students. Nessma helped me to understand some new phrases that I've always wanted to know how to say in Egyptian Arabic. She also reminded me of some phrases and verbs we have gone over in the past as a refresher. I was glad to learn how strong consonants in Arabic also change the emphasis on other accents in a word in Arabic too. She gave me several examples of this and it was nice to see that. I feel more and more confident in speaking Arabic all the time.

Excellent first lesson! We went over my learning goals, differences between Standard and Egyptian Arabic (and which is a better fit for me), learning materials and suggested approach, and even started learning to read. Amazing!
