I have completed 2 full classes along with a trial class and I'm happy to recommend Depeng (Jason). Class materials we are using are from the HSK 5 Standard Textbooks and Workbooks. Classes are a blend of English and Chinese, but mostly Chinese (I try to use as much Chinese and ask in English for more minute details, or if really don't comprehend the Chinese explanations etc). Depeng sent materials in advance of the class which was helpful and efficient in that it allows me to have my questions ready in advance of the class, as opposed to looking up vocabulary during the class which would be a waste of time, money and resources. Classes are relaxed. In terms of class outcomes - I was able to discuss points such as the difference between similar words or phrases (e.g. 偷 tou and 抢 qiang), and wider comprehension issues in articles, such as assumptions or cultural understandings that weren't obvious to me as a non-native speaker. Again, happy to recommend!

I want to thank Depeng Laoshi here for all his efforts to help me progress in Chinese. His explanations are always very clear (he is a trained teacher of Chinese as a foreign language), and I also like discussing (more and more in Chinese !) broader topics like the role of the UN in the world.

Jason D. was very encouraging during our first class and I am confident that starting Mandarin Chinese with him will be decisive for my learning and progress going forward! He is very patient and diligent and followed a structure and also presented the next steps and the process we are going to follow during our classes to come! Looking forward to learning more!

I highly recommended my Chinese teacher, Mr. Depeng. he is patient knowledgeable and passionate about teaching. thanks to his clear, explanation and engaging lessons. My Mandarin has improved a lot. I've really enjoyed learning from him, and I believe any student would benefit from his teaching.

This was my first Chinese lesson and I throughly enjoy it. He was patient and answered my many questions. I feel I got a lot out of the lesson and I will book more appointments.
