Jefferson Gomes

I've been learning with Jefferson since Nov 2023 and it's always a great experience during our lessons! Within 6 months I felt like I could speak and understand much clearer and his lessons really helped me when I traveled to Rio on multiple occasions. I was able to speak confidently with a Carioca accent and hold conversations with people and understand them as well as understand videos online and brazilian memes kkk. Jefferson comes prepared with different topics, readings, anything you need to brush up on, correction on pronunciation. Sem Jefferson, não conseguiria falar português rsrs. Mt obrigado, professor!

Jefferson is truly and incredible teacher! I recently completed my 100th lesson with him and feel so grateful for his expertise and patience. I meet with him 3 times a week and always find myself smiling after the lessons because he finds a way to make learning a new language fun! He’s brilliant as a professor, creative in his materials, and always happy to adjust to my season of life. I can’t recommend him enough. Obrigada, Jefferson!!

I have been taking lessons for quite some time with Jefferson, and I can say that he is an excellent teacher; as well as a kind and genuine human being. His approach as a teacher, that is to say, the methods, and materials that he uses, are carefully selected in accordance to your needs as student, regardless of the level of understanding you already might have in the language. In addition, he is a good listener, one who is willing to collaborate with the learner to bring out the student's interests and precise needs. Accordingly, he will integrate these particular needs and interests that the student has into his lessons, thereby making each lesson with Jefferson all the more enriching. I know I will continue to rely on Jefferson as a cornerstone teacher and guide in my Portuguese learning journey.

I really enjoy that Jefferson starts the class with conversation. The discussions are wide ranging, and this helps me increase my vocabulary and remember words that I don’t use as often. After the conversation portion of the class, we reviewed the past perfect conjugation in the subjunctive.

My lessons with Jefferson are always interesting and fun! He gives me plenty of time to speak and listen. We have been working on the subjunctive mood and I'm finally feeling somewhat comfortable with it.
