Hello! My name is Amanda and I'm ready to help you perfect your English. After receiving my TEFL certification, I began teaching English online. I also work as a news producer covering business, politics, entertainment, and more. I have a journalism degree from the University of Missouri and studied abroad in Belgium for a semester. I know what it's like having to speak a foreign language every day, so I understand how much of a struggle it can be. I'm a language learner myself, so I'm prepared to help you face any challenges in your language learning journey. I currently live in New York City with my cat, who sadly does not speak English. I am flexible and able to tailor lessons to whatever your specific needs or interests may be. I pay close attention to detail and am happy to offer corrections and guidance. I believe conversation practice and immersion are the best tools for learning a language. My lessons will revolve around a certain subject that is interesting to the student. For intermediate and advanced students, we can have discussions about a wide range of topics in order to practice grammar, pronunciation, and listening comprehension. For beginners, we can focus on building new vocabulary and simplifying the rules of English. I had a great class with Amanda; it was both enjoyable and useful. We discussed cultural differences between the US and the EU, which I found fascinating. Along the way, she corrected my pronunciation mistakes and provided useful phrases to help me express myself better. I’m going to have more classes with her.
