Hi! I’m Gil, an experienced Hebrew tutor based in Tel Aviv. I began my academic journey in the U.S. and later studied Philosophy and Cinematography in Israel. I also completed a certificate in Animal-Assisted Therapy. Beyond academics, I love music, film, hiking, and meaningful conversations. I’ve taught hundreds of students from around the world and believe in creating a safe, relaxed environment where learning happens naturally and joyfully. I’m here to help you connect to Hebrew in a way that feels truly personal.
Over the years, I’ve worked with students of all ages and backgrounds—some just wanted to read books together, others prepared for Hebrew exams or explored Biblical texts. I bring a warm, flexible approach, adapting to your goals and energy. Many of my students stayed with me for years and even became close friends. One of them was inspired to become a Hebrew teacher too! My teaching is rooted in encouragement, respect, and a shared journey toward curiosity and confidence.
My teaching style is all about emotion and connection. I believe we remember best when we feel something—so I use music, film, and humor to bring Hebrew to life. We might explore lyrics, analyze scenes, or just chat about what interests you. I avoid dry routines and instead create a space where learning flows naturally. It was my first lesson with Gil and I'm surprised how much I learned from him just in one hour. Gil is very patient, which is very nice since I'm a beginner. He wrote down all the words that are new to me, so that I could look them up later. And he is very friendly and fun, so the learning process is very enjoyable. Excellent lesson! Thank you, Gil!

I had a series of Hebrew classes at beginner level with Gil and appreciated his effort to try to get me using the Hebrew I have. He is patient and encouraging. If anyone is looking for a teacher I recommend Gil.
