My teaching style:
1. I create an interactive learning environment and encourage you to talk at least 50% of the lesson time
2. I value inversion education, so our lesson is mainly conducted in Chinese. I use English as little as possible in class. Beginner students will be supported by my gesture and visual aids.
3. I use pictures and charts to introduce vocabulary and grammar so that you will understand the abstract ideas easily
4. I combine my teaching content with Taiwanese culture
5. We will learn how to use a language independently through various activities, such as role-playing, storytelling, and watching the news

My class is suitable for a student who
1. Understands words and grammar but not sure how to use them in real life
2. Has learned Chinese for a while but still cannot pronounce it properly
3. Needs to improve Chinese to deal with tasks at the workplace. ex: interview, email
4. Struggles with Chinese synonyms
5. Hopes to improve speaking and writing skills
I know how difficult it is to learn a language. Please don't worry about making mistakes, because that is how we learn, isn't it? You are welcome to ask as many questions as possible in the class. Teaching Chinese online as a Second Language - National Taiwan Normal University - 2020This certificate equips teachers with the skill of conducting online lessons. In theoretical session, teachers have to understand the difference between online classes and real classroom as well as the potential obstacle with online course. In Practical part, teachers must master online teaching tools, such as “Zoom” and “Kahoot” as well as how to teach online lessons with children.
Candidate must finish 20 hours training and pass an online class demonstration evaluation to get the certificate

Today I gave a small presentation of German expressionism 表現主義 which was fun to share with Tina. We also talked briefly about board games, a shared hobby. Back to the workbook, Tina explained the difference between 個個 and 每一個 etc. which was insightful. Then some 聽力 to practice the use of 曾經. Very versatile as always!

Fantastic as usual, today we learned our third radical, Tina makes that really fun, and draws pictures of how the characters came to be, I find that super interesting. When it comes to speaking, we learn a lot of everyday words, and after only 3-4 weeks of Chinese with Tina, I can finally catch some of the words people say to me in my everyday life, and I’m not afraid to use Chinese in restaurants etc. Xie xieeee laoshi :))

I had a great trial lesson with Tina. She is very encouraging and patient, and explained new vocabulary using basic mandarin which was very helpful. Her teaching style is very flexible, and the structure of the class is tailored to her students which is great!

Tina is an extraordinary teacher with whom I had the pleasure of learning Chinese regularly for the last year and a half. She is always very prepared for class. We are working through a book called 當代中文課程, but she does not blindly follow the book but instead adds a lot of interesting supplementary material to our lessons, which give me more (cultural) insights on the topic we are currently working on. For example, right now we are working on the topic of „Modern Families“, and Tina prepared a lot of additional materials surrounding this topic: we read a text about work place discrimination of mothers and women in general, we discussed about the differences of work place discrimination in Germany (my country) and Taiwan, Tina also prepared several dialogues and a video for listening comprehension etc… she puts so much effort and love for detail into her lessons, it’s incredible. I have learned so much from her in our many lessons! Thank you so much for everything so far. 🙏
