Born in Canada, fluent in English (C2 level) & French, I’ve lived in Hungary (2000-05), Monaco, Italy, Mexico, Spain (2013-23), and Antigua (2023-24), and I enjoy new challenges—sailing, hiking, & building my own house.
I’ve studied eight languages myself, so I understand the frustrations learners face. I began teaching French in 2017 at a university near Barcelona with 120 students and have since worked with doctors, engineers, expats, NGOs, researchers, and businesses...
Supportive and adaptable, I adjust each lesson to your goals and style, offering clear explanations, structured courses, and insights into both Canadian & European French.

- I don’t teach French to minors (less than 18 years of age)
- I need to leave the lesson at the end time in order to not be late for the next one.
If you have any important questions, please start with those.

If needed, please reschedule the lesson at least 24 hours in advance.
If not, the lesson will be considered completed & paid.
📌 Late policy :
I will wait for you for the first 15 minutes of the lesson.

I love studying with Francois, it's the highlight of my day. I make a big leap forward with every lesson. He's genuinely invested in my success, this comes through each time. I learn in a variety of ways with him including drills, reading comprehension, recall and speaking, pronunciation, and grammar deep-dives. I have been trying to learn French off and on for many years... I don't think I would be continuing to study French now if I hadn't found Francois. One needs a caring, engaged, and knowledgable teacher and he is that person! I would recommend him to anyone at any level of skill.
