Sofia

I have been learning Ancient Greek for about 4 months with Sofia. She has been very helpful with my Exam preparation, and is currently helping me to revise all of my Greek in this book that my University has provided. Everytime I learn from her she makes it so much fun and makes me feel very comfortable which makes it more easier for me to improve my proficiency with my pronunciation and reading ability. I recommend her to anyone who wants to learn Ancient Greek!

I’ve been doing lessons with Sofia since March 2024. Sofia is incredibly patient and caring while I’ve been learning Greek. Sofia and I have bonded over our Greek upbringings and had many laughs while storytelling. Sofia provides me with the necessary materials and resources in order to improve my Greek on a weekly basis. I’m very happy with my choice in choosing Sofia as my Greek tutor. I look forward to my weekly sessions and have seen my Greek improve in such a short amount of time!

Lessons with Sofia are always productive. She is patient and able to puzzle out what I'm trying to communicate. Before correcting a mistake, she will indicate something is missing and let me try to find it on my own first. This helps me go back and actually review what I've written or said. I'm constantly surprised by how much we speak in class and the quantity of vocabulary I've picked up in the last couple months. Looking forward to the next lesson!

Sofia is a gem of a teacher! I am genuinely so excited to have lessons with her each week! I am speaking so much more Greek as a result. With many mistakes, of course, but always corrected with a smile! My goal is to banish my shyness in speaking and be able to speak more to my great aunt in Athens when we visit her for Easter holidays. Sofia is absolutely helping me with this!

I highly recommend Sofia as an exceptional Greek teacher! She helped me prepare for a recent visit to Greece so that I could feel comfortable with greeting people and ordering food. She is very patient and takes the time to explain important concepts that make learning Greek easier. I enjoyed working with her so much that I decided to start learning Ancient Greek in order to take part in an in-person course. I have a deadline to reach a certain level of proficiency and she readily embraced the challenge of helping me get there. She is a dedicated and versatile linguist.
