Helping you make more mistakes and speak and sound Lithuanian, ish 𝗔𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗮 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻! :) Hi there! I am Vesta - a language learning enthusiast turned italki community tutor and a writer on "Sounds Lithuanian, ish" on Substack for people worldwide who want to speak Lithuanian confidently. I enjoy learning languages myself as it opens the doors to new experiences! I speak English to a high standard as I've lived in the UK for many years. I also speak Spanish and have a lot of love for the Mediterranean! As a teacher, I aim to make our sessions fun and interesting. In our lessons, we work from books such as "Colloquial Lithuanian", "Nė dienos be lietuvių kalbos" and other resources online. My main goal is for you to feel safe in making more mistakes which then leads to confidence expressing yourself in Lithuanian. From years of working in Behaviour Change with people, I know that adding new routines is not easy. Busy life and competing commitments make it difficult to stick to a routine. While I am encouraging and supportive, my best advice for a beginner is to lower your expectations when learning. Less is more at the very beginning while you are building a routine. Language immersion is one of the best things to do. I love sharing links to articles, videos and audios for you to get used to the language based on your current level.
