Ms Caron developed a bespoke Cantonese lesson series for me to help me express myself better and learn colloquial expressions and slang. I immigrated from Hong Kong as a child so I’m not quite beginner. We were able to skip the basics and go right into improving conversational skills, replacing my Chinglish with natural sounding Cantonese. She fosters an encouraging and positive environment where I can be comfortable making mistakes. I’ve definitely improved over the course of 5 lessons.

After a few lessons with 黃老師，I can really appreciate her help with my unique situation of achieving oral fluency. Despite already knowing how to read and understand Cantonese, my speaking is choppy and problematic when trying to explain things beyond the nutshell. She has the uncanny ability to pick up on the little things and always quick to offer ways to correct my speech. I hope to get closer to my goal with her support! Thank you :)

Thank you Ms. Caron for the trial lesson! She took the time necessary to understand my level of Cantonese, even though it required more discussion than originally anticipated. She recommended me some materials I can use to further broaden my formal vocabulary, pinpointed tones I tend to pronounce more like an English-speaker, and taught me a new idiom that I can use!
