Maitri

I’ve been studying with Maitri for almost 3 years now, and she is without a doubt the best language teacher I’ve had! Detailed, organized, and flexible, she makes learning Bengali extremely enjoyable and easy. She’s always open to new questions and she loves sharing about Indian and Bengali culture. I eagarly look forward to melt lessons, they’re the highlight of my week, and even more, my Bengali has improved immensely since I started with Maitri. I’m forever grateful to her for her teaching, I’ve also made a friend for life!

I just finished my first lesson with Maitri and am very impressed. She is very professional and has a clear plan laid out about how she is going to teach Bangla. The way she presented her materials really motivated me and I am looking forward to our next lessons.

I am really enjoying my lessons with Maitri. I have had Hindi teachers before, but from my first lesson with Maitri I could tell she is far more experienced than the tutors I've had previously. Her focus on pronunciation is excellent, and she makes the lessons engaging by using real world examples, as well as explaining about Indian culture and customs. Maitri is very patient, and has a very pleasant manner about her. I highly highly recommended Maitri as a Hindi tutor.

I've been taking Bengali lessons with Maitri since November. I appreciated the structured approach, which focuses on understanding the grammar and language structure. I preferred to understand the language a little more than just memorising phrases even though my goal wasn't to be super fluent. Maitri's lessons helped me build a strong foundation in Bengali. Maitri's lessons also provided valuable cultural context, which enhanced my learning experience. My goal was to be able to talk to my friend's mother in Kolkata at her wedding. On my flight to Kolkata, I watched three Bengali films and it was a great feeling to be able to pick up some phrases and words. Hi Maitri, I just landed in Kolkata this morning!
