Language is an integral part of culture and I want to help people feel confident in their connection to their Yoruba identity by helping them improve their spoken Yoruba. Do you currently feel self-conscious when speaking Yoruba to family and friends? Do you desperately want to improve your pronunciation? Are you in or intend to travel to Nigeria in the near future and want to arm yourself to speak to extended family and perhaps the sellers in the local market? And do you prefer learning with a teacher who is patient, encouraging and supportive? I am Mojisola, a 32-year-old Yoruba native from Lagos. I enjoy meeting new people, writing and watching movies. I have taught Yoruba to persons from all across the world - starting from Sam, an Indian American friend of my brother's who moved to Nigeria in 2017 - and have experience teaching all ages. I have been a professional teacher since 2015, teaching people of all ages. Whether you are new to the Yoruba language and are a total beginner, or you are looking to gain confidence with your conversation skills, I am here to work with you, at your pace, and in as much time as you need. I encourage you to make mistakes and will provide a safe space for your growth. I look forward to meeting and knowing you! I have been told that my main superpower is empathy.
