Just finished my 200th lesson with Renato. He is patient, humorous, knowledgeable and excellent at explaining grammer. I always look forward to our conversations about a great variety of topics. Long may this language journey continue. Muito obrigada, Renato!

I really enjoyed talking with Renato. It was my first lesson with him but he made me feel comfortable and confident to speak (almost) entirely in Portuguese. He spoke clearly and quickly understood my level. I know that my Portuguese will improve quickly during these conversations.

Renato is a remarkably insightful teacher. We ended up having a truly wonderful Portuguese conversation — fluid, thoughtful, and full of nuance. I used Renato's services about 2 1/2 years ago, having class 5 days/week for 1 year. These lessons were sufficient to prepare me for passing the A1 and A2 course. I am now in the final two months of the B1 level and I needed some private tutoring to help me to understand some of the complex Portuguese verbs and to prepare me to pass the next exam. It was time and money well-spent. Renato is an excellent tutor who has a iron-fisted grasp on both English and Portuguese. He has the ability to explain the language so the student can comprehend and use it daily. He is flexible, tailoring the teaching to the needs of the student. I recommend Renato to anyone learning European Portuguese. I live in Portugal and his lessons, past and recent, enable me to make my way through the local Portuguese scene. Thank you, Renato!

Renato is an outstanding teacher. Despite my beginner level and decidedly limited abilities, he makes each lesson work through attentiveness and awareness of what someone at my level can handle. His overall teaching style is even making my recent and halting attempts at trying to speak on my own ever so slightly less mortifying!

I really enjoy our sessions and learn a lot, in using Portuguese to speak and write, current events, historical events, and more with Renato. 10/10 recommend.
