Hello! I’m Kaito, a Japanese language teacher. I was born in Tokyo. Currently, I travel across all 47 prefectures of Japan in a self-built camper van, sharing real-life Japanese language and culture directly from each destination.
Drawing on my experiences living in Sydney and California, as well as my background in surfing, I offer practical, real-world Japanese lessons from a mobile classroom. With my original “Two-Sentence Structure Method,” you can develop natural conversational skills in a short time—without relying on traditional textbooks.
I offer lessons for a wide range of goals, including travel, daily conversation, and JLPT preparation (N5 to N1). Beyond grammar, I also introduce various aspects of Japanese culture, such as tea ceremony traditions and hidden slang. Through unique stories that combine surfing and Japanese teaching, I create a fun learning environment where mistakes are part of the journey. Kaito is a fantastic Japanese Teacher! He has been very patient in helping me refine my Japanese pronunciation and ability to speak the language. For someone like me, who has good comprehension with the language, but struggles to speak, he does a fantastic job at explaining both higher level, and equally important, simpler concepts. I always leave class having learned something new, and with an actionable plan on how to improve with appropriately portioned homework. Kaito was amazing as always. He does a great job at naturally steering the conversation and finding unique was to explain grammar points and unknown words without resorting to English at first. He also did a great job of creating a graphic on the go to explain a grammar point!
