I’m a native Chinese speaker living in the European time zone. Since 2021, I have taught Chinese on italki. As a multilingual learner, I also use these platforms to study foreign languages. I speak English, Italian, and some French.
🧠 My language learning advice:
Beginner: Don’t waste time on too many resources. Choose one or two textbooks and focus on building a strong foundation through systematic study.
Intermediate: Start watching videos and listening to podcasts with real-life content to build vocabulary. Speaking practice becomes more important than textbooks.

🗣️ 1. Pronunciation Matters 发音很重要
请问 (qǐng wèn) = Excuse me / May I ask...
亲吻 (qīn wěn) = kiss (verb)
✅请问，我能亲吻你吗？
Qǐng wèn, wǒ néng qīn wěn nǐ ma?
(Excuse me, may I kiss you?)
👉 One sound off and your polite question becomes way too forward!
📖 2. Grammar Matters
亲口 = say something personally -副词（adverb）
亲一口 = give a kiss-动词短语（verb phrase）
✅我可以亲口对你说晚安吗？先亲一口，再说。
Wǒ kě yǐ qīn kǒu duì nǐ shuō wǎn ān ma?Xiān qīn yì kǒu, zài shuō.
(Can I personally tell you goodnight?Let me kiss you first, then we talk.)

She is excellent at eliciting speech from mẹ, and she really makes sure I can repeat and understand. She said I have a good vocabulary, but the next lesson we need to practice grammar, which I totally agree!
