Hello! I’m a 25-year-old student specializing in translation and interpretation, with a strong background in linguistics. I speak Hungarian, English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and I am currently learning German to expand my language skills. I’m passionate about language, cross-cultural communication, and helping others improve their language abilities.
I am a kind, caring, and honest person, and I enjoy making the learning process both fun and effective.
Fun fact: Two years ago, I worked as a camp counselor in the USA, where I had the change to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. I encourage you to book a lesson with me so we can work together on achieving your language goals!
As your teacher, I’m here to help you with anything related to Hungarian and English (and potentially other languages). I’m passionate about language, culture, tech, business, so we can dive deep into those areas, or we can simply have conversations on topics that interest you. I’m patient and dedicated to helping you become a fluent and confident speaker. Whether it’s during our lessons or in real-life social situations, I will make sure you feel comfortable and capable using the language.
I adapt my lessons to meet your individual needs, so each class is unique to my students. While I emphasize the practical aspects of the language, I also have a strong understanding of grammar and can incorporate it as needed. Máté is an extremely talented teacher. I find myself speaking 95%+ in Hungarian for hours with him without feeling exhausted at the end. Máté somehow makes conversation in a difficult language feel easy and fun, and I can't recommend him highly enough.

An exceptional teacher, Máté engages me from the beginning of each lesson. His ready smile shows he clearly enjoys and cares about teaching. Though he discerns my needs well and selects appropriate teaching materials, he frequently asks whether his approach is meeting my needs. Máté knows when to refocus us on the task at hand if we get carried away by our enthusiasm for a topic of conversation. Máté’s praise (beyond my merits) and evident pleasure in my progress does inspire me to work harder. He eagerly indulges my interest in the origin of words and even researched Tatar grammar, an interest of mine, so we could discuss the similarities to that of Hungarian. I am now booking lessons from a 15 lesson package and look forward to many future lessons with this kind and skillful teacher.
