Akiko

Akiko Sensei is kind, intelligent, and so patient. She is a wonderful teacher. She patiently and professionally helped me through numerous mistakes I made as I tried to speak. As we conversed, she produced a google doc, documenting my mistakes with corrections, as well as grammar points and vocabulary, so that I could study them later. She was careful to make sure I understood each. She also used excellent prepared materials to review the grammar points with examples. She encouraged me, and I felt really comfortable despite my obvious weaknesses. Her communication skills were excellent and I was surprised how well I could understand her. The most surprising thing is that in each class, we both laughed several times! I wasn’t expecting her wonderful personality and sense of humor. Yes, I actually had fun. Her gentle style of teaching is perfect for me. I’m really fortunate to have her in my corner! I know she will help me succeed in improving my Japanese.

Akiさん's grammar lessons are super clear and easy to understand, with tons of exercises in class, so it was easy for me to remember and practice along the way!

Aki-san and I talked about many fun and interesting things, and we started a new game. We had a great lesson and will do more of this in the future.

Akiko San is a perfect Japanese conversation partner. She is always extremely well-prepared for the lesson, explains things well, and has a warm and kind personality. These three things together make for a wonderful one hour of conversation.

Akiko San has many wonderful teaching qualities but one of my favorite things about sensei is she is always prepared with something to talk about and it is always different and interesting. I appreciate all of the time she puts into the lesson, during, before, and after.
