I am originally from Bristol in the West of England. Bristol is famous for its art and music scene, big storms and a very pretty bridge. I hold a degree in Law with European Legal Studies from Durham University and started my career working in finance before taking a gap year to teach English in Tokyo. I quickly realised that my classroom was a far more fun and inspiring place than the law office and I never returned to practice. Since that time I have taught in Poland, Moscow, Dubai and in the UK.
In my free time I am passionate about nature and the outdoors. I love running, cycling, hill walking, motorbikes and working on my land. I also love astronomy and all things metaphysical.
ฉันในฐานะผู้สอน
What's the best thing about teaching languages? You, the student! The best lessons are those where we learn from each other and I invite you to bring your biggest, best and craziest ideas to class. I also love it when my students surprise themselves with their progress and I take great pleasure in motivating your study.
Unlike many English teachers, I am also a language student. I study French and Arabic on iTalki. This means that I know what makes a great course and I have a wealth of tips and ideas for you to try. I can also support beginning students in French, Arabic or German as necessary.
บทเรียนและรูปแบบการสอนของฉัน
I offer a range of classes.
For students requiring a structured course I use the Outcomes series of textbooks from Elementary to Advanced levels which practice reading, writing, listening and speaking.
I can also offer conversational or debate classes around a topic agreed before the lesson.
I have extensive experience of successfully preparing students for job interviews in English speaking countries - I can offer CV preparation, interview and mock interview classes with feedback.
I am happy to take younger learners too, and have extensive experience with preparing younger students for life in English speaking schools as well as supporting them with their school studies.
