Susie (Kids& Adults)

Susie is a natural-born teacher (great instincts for when to challenge me, when to indulge me, when to change topics/methods), who also extremely diligent (always prepared with materials for our lessons, and often with homework to assign, and also sends me class notes afterwards). (It's a really rare combination, as many gifted teachers don't bother putting in the work, and no amount of diligence can make up for a lack of natural talent.) Our lessons are both fun and challenging, she happily lets me steer her off topic with random questions (which she answers brilliantly), but always manages to bring us back on track, and she also frequently circles back to things I learned in previous lessons, so I don't forget. I really can't rave about her enough, although I selfishly hope she doesn't get too popular, because I don't want other people to steal my timeslots, and I plan to continue with her for a long time!

Second lesson with Susie. I already feel like I'm learning a lot with her. I'm getting great speaking and listening practice as well as grammar enhancement and vocabulary acquisition. As well as review notes after class. Would definitely recommend

It's always such a pleasure to spend time learning Chinese with Susie. I've made huge progress having two 45-minute lessons a week, half our lessons now are just chatting happily in Chinese (with her providing me an occasional word or phrase I can't recall (or never learned)), yet she also manages to keep me not interested but a bit challenged, so I keep making progress.
