Susie is a natural-born teacher (great instincts for when to challenge me, when to indulge me, when to change topics/methods), who also extremely diligent (always prepared with materials for our lessons, and often with homework to assign, and also sends me class notes afterwards). (It's a really rare combination, as many gifted teachers don't bother putting in the work, and no amount of diligence can make up for a lack of natural talent.) Our lessons are both fun and challenging, she happily lets me steer her off topic with random questions (which she answers brilliantly), but always manages to bring us back on track, and she also frequently circles back to things I learned in previous lessons, so I don't forget. I really can't rave about her enough, although I selfishly hope she doesn't get too popular, because I don't want other people to steal my timeslots, and I plan to continue with her for a long time!

Oh, man, the second half of class we just talked and talked and talked (mostly related to the reading we did in the first half, but I went on several tangents, and Susie was quite happy to follow me there), and I was so proud of myself! I have *really* come a long way in my lessons with Susie and just want to rave about what a great teacher she is! (Though I selfishly hope she doesn't become *too* popular, making scheduling with her more difficult!)

Second lesson with Susie. I already feel like I'm learning a lot with her. I'm getting great speaking and listening practice as well as grammar enhancement and vocabulary acquisition. As well as review notes after class. Would definitely recommend

I am a heritage speaker and so was looking for a very specific type of instructor who could help improve my speaking skills (which can be described as "Ching-lish"), expand my vocabulary and support my grammar. In my first few lessons with Susie, I have found her to be the perfect instructor for this goal with her patience and ability to correct my grammar or help me learn new vocabulary. She also has very stellar notes, which I frequently review and use to make flashcards. I already feel my Chinese improving!

She is a great teacher and I really enjoy my lessons with her.
