Italki has asked me to write a recommendation for Lashonda. Some things are easy. This, however is hard, not because there was anything wrong with Lashonda as a teacher. Just the opposite. She did everything right. It has been a pleasure and a joy to be one of her students. There is more to teaching than just knowing the subject at hand. Interaction with the student requires intangible assets as well as those that can be named. Patience, kindness, encouragement are definitely skills worth broadening the effect of basic transmission of knowledge on the subject to the student. She has those skills and so much more. I can't begin to find enough superlatives to cover the depth of appreciation that I have for this woman. She is stepping away from teaching, temporarily I hope, so that she can devote necessary time to the exigencies of her family of 2 small children, a husband as well as a full time job place substantial demands on her.
