My name’s Katrina. I started teaching on iTalki in September 2021. Originally from China, I have been living in Canada for over 10 years. I speak four languages: Mandarin, Cantonese, English, and Hakka. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems Management from the UK and a postgraduate certificate in Hospitality Management from Canada. After graduation, I worked in various industries, including banking, hotels, and event planning, gaining diverse professional experience. I love traveling and have visited 16 countries so far. Meeting new people and learning about different cultures are some of my greatest passions. I’m a facilitator for English Conversation Circles at a college in Canada, where I help international students from around the world practice their spoken English. Additionally, I teach Cantonese, Hakka, Mandarin, and English on iTalki. My classes don’t follow a fixed format because every student is unique. I adapt my teaching methods to suit each learner’s comfort and needs. In the first lesson, I’ll get to know you—your goals, what you’d like to focus on, and how you learn best. From there, I’ll prepare customized lessons with a variety of topics, engaging questions, and useful idioms or slang tailored to your interests and objectives.
