Hi, my name is David, I’m from Brazil. I teach both Portuguese and English here on Italki, and I’ve been working here since 2021. I love helping people unlock their language skills for travel, work, and lifestyle. Outside the classroom, I’m really passionate about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu — it keeps me focused, disciplined, and always improving. I also love music, especially rock and metal, and skateboard. Movies, TV series, and video games are part of my world, and I enjoy traveling whenever I can. In my lessons, I bring the same energy, creativity, and passion that I put into everything I do. If you’re looking for classes that are practical, fun, and connected to real life, I’m your teacher.
I’ve been teaching Portuguese and English since 2011, starting in São Paulo with foreign students who wanted to learn Portuguese for daily life. My classes focus on conversation, listening, vocabulary, and grammar in a practical way. Since 2015, I’ve taught students of all ages and levels, from beginner to advanced. In every lesson, I adapt to each student’s goals—whether it’s travel, work, or personal growth—so learning feels natural, motivating, and connected to real life.
My lessons are always tailored to each student’s needs. I create a comfortable and motivating space where learning feels natural. I use materials that focus on conversation, vocabulary, grammar, and listening, but I also bring real-life topics to keep practice relevant and fun. We had a great trial lesson. The conversation felt surprisingly easy and natural, but I also learned a few new words/phrases in that short time! I also enjoyed learning a bit more about the area of Brazil where he is from. I look forward to having more lessons with him!
