Jie

Great lesson with Jie! We talked about different things - Chinese New Year, Christmas, watching videos before sleep, only child families, etc. We both had some funny stories. Jie has a good sense of humor. I like that Jie speaks at a natural speed rather than speaking slowly. I have to focus to keep up with the conversation. It's not easy, but it helps me to understand in less time. These kind of conversations are what I need to improve further!

Great lesson with Jie! We talked about movies and tv shows, and about China during world war 2. Jie also gave some background on ancient China before it was unified. We also talked about earthquakes. It was an interesting discussion on a variety of topics!

Great lesson with Jie! We talked about a lot of things, including climate in different countries, traditional Chinese medicine, Chinese history and poetry. Jie told me about how she had to compare Chinese history to world history in school. I learned a lot in the lesson and I like how Jie is able to discuss a variety of topics, which is ideal for a conversation lesson!

Great lesson with Jie! We talked about snow and about having a brother or sister. We also talked about China's relationship with Taiwan and the pressure on national leaders. It was a good conversation and I enjoyed it!

Great lesson with Jie! We talked about food, and Jie showed me pictures and short videos of various specialties. She also talked about the history of the famous towers in Xi'an, and gave me some examples of people speaking with a Xinjiang accent. We also talked about winter and cold weather. It was interesting learning about all the food, and Jie was very eager to talk about it!

Great lesson with Jie! We talked about a bunch of things, including tests at school, flu season, hot chocolate and traditional Chinese medicine. One thing Jie does really well is to speak with me at a normal speed. It helps my listening comprehension, while at the same time being a challenge!
