Matching Information: Which Paragraph Contains...? | IELTS #083
Mô tả
Level B2 (approx. band 5.5-6.5) · Academic and General Training
Matching information questions look like this: "Which paragraph contains a reason for a decision?" or "Which paragraph contains an example of a failed project?" You must find the paragraph letter. Learners often lose time because they search for the topic, not for the type of information. They find a paragraph about the decision, but not the one with the reason for it.
In this episode:
• Information-type words
• How this task is different
• An efficient scanning method
• Letters used more than once
• Reading lab
• Language bridge
• Practice
• Self-check questions with answers
Key points:
• The information type is as important as the topic. Underline both.
• Matching information targets details, and the answers may be in any order.
• Go paragraph by paragraph, checking all the questions each time.
• Read the instructions. If letters can be reused, some paragraphs answer twice and some not at all.
