A brief history of Venezuelan food called: Hallaca. It is very common to eat it at Christmas in the Caribbean country. The hallaca is very similar to the tamale, so many times people confuse them, but their preparation and origins may be somewhat different.

I'm going to talk about what I usually eat here in Japan.   You can find what ordinary Japanese people eat in our daily lives at this podcast "きょう　なに　たべた？(What did you eat today?)"
It's February 11th today. I ate a boiled fish for the dinner.

「今日　何食べた？」というテーマで、日本人である私がどんなものを食べているのかをこのpodcastで紹介していきます。
今日は2月11日（土）　晴れ　最高気温は11℃　そんなに寒くないです。
さて、今日の夕食のメニューは　白米のごはん　たけのことわかめの煮物、小松菜とちくわの煮物、マナガツオの煮つけ、ナスのみそ汁です。　
実は、たけのこは調理済みのものを買ってきて、家で温め直してワカメを加えただけです。　みそ汁もレトルトで、食べる直前にお湯を注いで混ぜるだけです。　手抜きしました。一からちゃんと自分で調理したのは、小松菜とちくわの煮物とマナガツオの煮つけです。小松菜は、見た目はホウレンソウにちょっと似たお野菜です。だし、しょうゆ、みりんで味付けします。ほんのり甘く　薄目の味付けが私の好みです。
さて、メインディッシュのマナガツオの煮つけですが、これはやわらかい白身のお魚です。
骨も取りやすいので食べやすいです。しょうゆ、砂糖、酒、水で煮るんですが、魚の臭みを消すために、しょうがの薄切りも入れます。　魚の煮つけはだいたい甘い醤油味です。これが白いご飯にとても合います。　実は私はあまり魚は好きではないんですが、このマナガツオだけは子どものころから好きでした。　魚は部位によっては骨が多くて食べにくいところがあります。でも、子供のころ、いつも食べやすいしっぽのほうをもらっていました。大人になった今も、私は　頭のほうじゃなくてしっぽのほうを食べています。
昔に比べたら、マナガツオの値段もずいぶん高くなっていますが、たまに新鮮なものが
お店の棚に並んだときは、「あ！今日はこれ食べよう！」と即決で買っています。
「今日、何食べた？」　2月11日の私の夕食は以上です。みなさんは何を食べましたか？
