Today is the Thanksgiving Day in western custom.People say thanks to their beloved ones,and will enjoy a big meal in evening,such as turkey.
But for Chinese,we do not eat turkey .expect saying thanks ,shopping is the main subject of today
Actually,almost every western festival means shopping festival for chinese,including the valentine‘s day ,the halloween,and the christmas.
Shopping is one of the most important parts of these festivals.A lot of pruducts in the shopping mall are on sale ,stimulating people to purchase

You should be careful not to confuse a USA custom, as a western custom.
While Thanksgiving Day is known about around the world, there is no celebration for it in other countries. Here in Australia, in England, in Western Europe, it was a normal workday. Only USA celebrates Thanksgiving Day, although most other countries have their national days, but celebrated on different days, and with different traditions.
