Sense of humor
The sense of humor has different meanings depending on the country you're in.
A good example could be the difference between the Spanish sense of humor and the British one. They are very distinct. in which Spanish will find funny and which British people prefer when they make a joke.
It is well known that British have a very acid and ironic humor; they will pull somebody's leg until he/she feels absolutely ashamed.
In contrast the Spanish people choose to laugh about daily situations which everyone could experience one day in their life, common and embarrassing situations which might shine a bad light on society but in a kind way.
I don't know much about which are the subject of Irish jokes, or in which regions of England these jokes are considered funny. In contrast, I do know in Spain Andalucía is the land of art, and there you will find events relative to their humor like Carnavales. Carnavales is one week where people make jokes about what is wrong in Spain and the people who fit the critica about enjoy listening to a song relative to his/her own mistake.
To be honest, if I must to choose betwen the two differents senses of humor, I prefer the Spanish one, because I think that a joke should make you smile and it shouldn't make you feel awesome bad. (The word "awesome" usually has a positive connotation)
Very interesting entry! :)
