"Turkey curry Buffet"...Is it popular party style in UK?
Today I read the book "BRIDGET JONES'S DIARY".(I've just started reading it and only finished three pages. haha.....)
Bridget was forced by her mother to join the "New Year's Day Turkey Curry Buffet" .
In Japan, turkey is not popular stuff but it is similar to chicken, isn't it?
Chicken curry is very popular in Japan and I like it very much!
So though I don't know what turkey tastes like, it sounds delicious. I wish I could join the buffet.

Yes, turkey is similar in taste and texture to chicken, but the texture and taste is slightly different.
In Scotland's cities, it's common to eat Steak Pie (made from beef steak) on New Year's Day. However, it's not so common in other regions of Scotland.

Now I'm planning to cook Curry with Rice for tomorrow's dinner.
I can't cook curry from scratch ( beginning with various spices), therefore I'll use curry roux.
It makes it easy to cook curry.
There are many types of curry, and one popular taste is British style.
( Maybe, British people will ask"Why is this called British style??")
Ah, now I'm hungry.....

from scratch = from the very beginning
"from scratch" is an idiomatic way to say "from the beginning" of something.
「from scratch」は「ゼロから」というような慣用語です。
