Today I have visited a site that can tell you how many English words you know. For me it says that I know 23,100 English words because I study vocabulary everyday. That's a pretty good result! I recognise the website - I've done the test as well. Uhmm... clearly I've read too much. O_o (Interestingly, I notice some of the "uncommon" words are actually fake - probably to account for someone who might try to cheat?)

Today I have went to a site that can tell you how many English words you know. For me it says that I know 23,100 English words because I study vocabulary everyday. According to the site, the majority of English speakers know between 20,000 and 35,000 words and non-native speakers know between 2,500 and 9,000 words. And you, how many English words do you know? I am very curious!

Mine was between 24,000 to 30,000. I took it twice because the words spew out randomly. The difference is because of their grouping. I know some of the words in the group. The more you take the quiz, the better the range you know you are in.
