What's up?  = qué tal?

What happened?  = qué pasó?

What's the matter?  = qué pasa?

What's up and What's going on. These are a friendly way of greeting friends... Meaning, Hello or what's currently happening with you or your surroundings What's happened? Perhaps you meant "What's happening" or "What happened" What's happening can also apply to "what's up" when greeting a friend. Or what is actually happening. What's wrong? What's the matter? These two means the same too. What's troubling you. Hope I've helped
