My daughter asked my wife:"Mom, why is it that grown-ups start<strike> telling </strike>stories<strike> always </strike>with 'A long long time ago.'"
With a reproachful glance (my wife?  my daughter?) looked at me, <strike>she </strike>said, " Not everyone does that, some people <strike>usually</strike> start<strike>s</strike> with "Sorry, I'm too busy at work today, so I got home late.‘”

Ha ha.  Funny story. 

You're writing is good, but in order to improve you'll need to focus on DETAILS now.
Learn capitalization - and use it.
The past tense of "look" = looked<<< study past tense.
Study proper punctuation and spacing. 
" ~~~ " < around a quotation.
Titles in English are capitalized
