Settling in Ithaca
I moved to Ithaca, NY about one and a half month ago. Ithaca is a really small town with about 30,000 of population, one third of which are of Cornell university students.
One of the things that are difficult when moving to a new place is that you have to start from the scratch for your life.
Sometimes this can be a good point because you can leave all the past behind and start off as a new person. But in return, you lose almost everything you've acquired in the past: friends, job, acquaintances and knowledge around the place, etc.
I came here leaving all my friends, family, job behind in Korea and I'll be leaving here as a foreigner whose language won't never be as perfect as of native, which will put me in awkward situations many times.
As I was thinking of the negative side of moving to a new place, I may have gotten a little pessimistic. However, I do believe that I am lucky to have this opportunity of living in a new country and learning the language as well as the culture. I am seeing many new things that I'd never come to across before.
I think I just have to be more patient with myself and not expect that I will settle in and have what I used to have back in my country so soon.
But if you know any tips how to be patient with yourself in a daily life, please leave a comment below for me.
Thanks for reading a long gibberish.

I moved to Ithaca NY about one and a half months ago. Ithaca is a really small town with a population of about 30,000 (see note below) of population, one third of which whom are of Cornell university students. One of the things that are difficult/difficult things when moving to a new place is that you have to start your life from the scratch for your life. (your grammar is not wrong, just better when the order is rearranged a little)
Sometimes this can be a good point because you can leave all the past behind and start off as a new person. But in return/On the other hand, you lose almost everything you've acquired in the past: friends, job, acquaintances and knowledge of how to get around the place, etc.
I came here leaving all my friends, family, job behind in Korea and I'll be leaving here as a foreigner whose language won't will never/won't ever be as near perfect (there are no degrees of perfection) as that of a native speaker, which/and this (see note) will put me in awkward situations many times.
As I was thinking of the negative side of moving to a new place, I may have gotten (an awful word!) become a little pessimistic. However, I do believe that I am lucky to have this opportunity of living in a new country and learning the language, as well as the culture. I am seeing many new things that I'd never come to across before.
I think I just have to be more patient with myself and not expect that I will settle in and have what I used to have back in my country so soon/quickly. (out of room!!!)
'one third of which/whom...' creates awkward grammar, so in this case I'd suggest simplifying, changing the order: 'population of 30,000. Cornell students comprise one third of the total'.

Thanks for reading a long gibberish. (the writing is good, no gibberish about it!)
You twice used 'but' to start a sentence, it is preferred as a conjunction. However 'however' serves better ... But there are exception :)!
