Hmm maybe you could use the parallel particles (並立助詞/へいりつじょし/heiritsu joshi) と or や to connect nouns, the conjunctive particles (接続助詞/せつぞくじょし/setuzoku joshi) て, から or ので to connect verbs, the conjunctions (接続詞/せつぞくし/setsuzoku-shi) そして, それから, だから, それで, そこで, それに, および, ならびに, また, または, もしくは, それとも to connect sentences, depending on the context...

Yeah. They don't truly have conjunctions. Rather, they use sentence ending particles. This sounds simple enough, but in order to use them correctly, one needs to understand clause order in Japanese which generally is the opposite of that in English. However, Japanese students eventually get the hang of it, even if it's tremendously difficult at first. If you want, we could talk on skype and I'll gladly show you what I mean.
