as Chris said, most people here, especially the younger ones can speak more or less good english, but of course it's always better to know the national language, at least the basics

almost everyone can speak a little bit english...but the older people maybe dont understand a word. the younger generation learn english in school...so you dont have any problems with them if you need help with german...I will help you and maybe my english would be better :D I'm a native german speaker.
