(غير المنصرف)or (الممنوع من الصرف) Ghair munsarif or mamnoo' min assarf It is a few singular nouns (including many proper names and names of places), and certain types of "broken plural" these nouns can't take Tanween, or kassrah (you use Fattah instead when the noun is majroorمجرور) But if you add to that noun AL attaa'reef أل التعريف (The definition) or it be Mudhaaf مضاف (in a genitive) then that noun become Munsarif منصرف ( it can have tanween and you use kassrah when it is Majroorمجرور ) Some of these nouns: 1-the nouns that end with Alif attaaneeth al maqsoura ( ألف التأنيث المقصورة) "ى" e.g.: Salma سلمى, Layla ليلى, Bushra بشرى 2-the nouns that end with Alif atta'neeth al mamdoudah (ألف التأنيث الممدودة) "اء" e.g.: sahraa' صحراء, shoua'ra' شعراء, ulama' علماء 3-some type of plural nouns (صيغة منتهى الجموع) e.g. Jawaame' جوامع, Sawaame'صوامع, Masabeeh مصابيح, Asafeer عصافير. 4-Proper nouns that have feminization sign (علامات التأنيث) or they are feminine in the meaning e.g. Fatimah فاطمة, Talhah طلحة, Su'aad سعاد, Zaynab زينب. 5-non-Arabic proper nouns e.g. Izmeer إزمير, Ibraheem إبراهيم. 6- proper nouns that end with with Alif and Noon e.g. Adnaan عدنان, Qahtaan قحطان, Imraan عمران, Sufyan سفيان. There still some cases I didn't mention it here because I don't know how to explain it in English. I hope you understand this and sorry for my bad English. If you can read Arabic and want to learn more about it then you should visit this site, it has more details about this. http://www.schoolarabia.net/arabic/mamno_sarf/index.htm
