Three forms of the present indicative or “work”are:
I work
I do work
I am working
By reversing the word order of the second and third examples, we can turn the statement into a question:
Do I work
Am I working
This type of reversed word order to make a question does not apply to the first example.
Following that pattern, you would say:
Do you work here?
Are you working here?
Both sentences have roughly the same meaning but might be used in different situations.
Do you work here? = Are you a regular employee here?
Are you working here? = I might ask this question if I thought you were recently unemployed or had been working somewhere else.

verb + auxiliary DO
adjective + copular verb BE
...
In the present tense, all verbs take DO or (DOES for third person) as an auxiliary verb in question forms.
Statement: Bill likes coffee.
Question: Does Bill like coffee?
The auxiliary is used in the short reply, too.
Question:Does Bill like coffee?
Reply: Yes, he does.
...
In the present tense "ARE" is used with adjectives.
For example: Are you hungry? Are you happy?
...
The confusion comes from past participles like bored, excited, tired which look like VERBS but function as ADJECTIVES and thus take (the copular verb) BE.
For example: Are you bored? Are you tired?

The correct of those two options is: Do you work here?
The reason is because it's in the present simple tense.
Present Simple
We use the Present Simple for something we do generally.
For Example:
You work here
They walk home
She speaks very loud
etc
When it is a questions for something that you do generally, you add the auxiliary verb "Do".
For example:
Do you work here?
Do they walk home?
Does she speak very loud?
Note that all these are something that happens GENERALLY.
Present Progressive
We use the Present Progressive for something we are doing now.
For example:
I am speaking now.
She is writing.
We are going to the park.
Note that all these are sentences express something that is in progress (it is happening at that moment.)
When we ask a question in the Present Progressive, we switch the order of the verb "to be".
For example:
I am speaking now.
Am I speaking now?
She is writing.
Is she writing?
We are going to the park.
Are we going to the park?
Hope that helps =]
