About English Why in this sentence it has written: "You can turn off the radio" - turn off - together ? But in the question it has written otherwise: "Can I turn the radio off?" - turn the radio off - the radio between "turn" and "off"? Before I saw only second variant in questions and answers. Thank you very muchCan I turn on the light? - too

Hello! Turn off and turn on can be used 'togeter' and separated by a noun. Both uses are correct. See examples below: 1. Turn the radio off OR Turn off the radio. 2. Turn on the light OR Turn the light on So consider this as correct: Turn on/off+article and noun OR Turn+article and noun+ off/on

Some phrasal verbs are separable, and the object can go either after or between the parts of the phrasal verb. You just have to learn which phrasal verbs are separable or not. There's no trick to finding out. The main rule to remember is, if you have an object pronoun (me, you, it, him, her, us, them), it always goes inside the phrasal verb: turn it off, turn it on, and so on.
