A doubt about the use of some words in english
I'd like someone to clear it to me please. When you say " I want that boy/girl" are you talking about a feeling, afection, or does it specifically mean phisycal desire?
And when you say " I'm hot" I was taugh we are talking about the weather, the day is sunny. ButI watched in tv series people use that term meaning someone is sexy. So I ask, As a spanish speaker trying to understand english, the difference is only inthe context? or do you usually use another term to say you feel the heat in a sunny day? In spanish we say "Tengo calor"
Thanks a lot ^^

"I want that boy/girl" - You need more information to know the meaning. It does mean that the speakers wants the 'boy/girl' in a romantic/sexual way, but you can't infer more than that.
'Hot' is slang for sexiness. Its normal meaning refers to temperature. You do need to use context to figure out the meaning.

But in Spanish you do not say, "Soy calor." In English, as in any language, words carry only a portion of the intended communication. The meaning of "I am hot" would depend on context, etc. Less ambiguous is "I want...", which would be hard to interpret in other than the most base fashion.

The difference between the two meanings in "I'm hot" is purely context. Hot can mean either temperature or "sexy" depending on the context. I believe there are some similar meanings in Spanish as well. I want that boy/girl is only about physical desire. It does not mean love or affection necessarily. Just desire.
