algunas veces no es lo mismo, aunque en este caso es simplemente por cuestiones de uso, pero por si las moscas mira este ejemplo: i stopped to smoke = yo dejé, (paré) de fumar,     i stopped smoking = yo paré para fumar (me detuve para fumar) sigue esta reglilla y te saldrá bien.
