Are you trying to make the sentence more natural? This is how I would write it: For starters, we were well prepared for the long road trip. We brought snacks, games, cards, jokes, movies, and music incase we got bored. Why: First of all I think to make it sound more natural you want to show why those things you listed (snacks, cards, movies) were included in the sentence and why. So you would say we packed/we brought/we found etc so the reader knows that those things are there in the story and not just thought of. Then I would add the WHY you brought these things (incase we got bored) in the same sentence. That way everything fits together: what you did (we brought), then the things (movies and games) and why (incase we got bored.)
