Help with a sentence (avec le pronom indéfini "on") hi can you help me with the following sentence? I cannot understand why it is "où l'on" and not just "où on": "Pour les Parisiens, le tourniquet est un passage obligatoire, où l'on composte son ticket" what is l' in this case? is it "LE"? in such case, why is it present? thank you in advance! alessio

Salut! Comme je ne parle pas anglais, je vais répondre votre question en français, ça va? Dans cette construction, le "l" de "l'on" est un "l" euphonique. Il n'a aucune fonction syntathique dans la phrase. C'est simplement pour éviter un hiatus (suite de deux voyelles phonétiques) et ne pas dire où + on avec deux voyelles em même temps, ce qui resterait un mauvais son. Vous avez compris? (=
